Cellist Ashley Peck
Ashley Peck has been a cellist with Melegari Chamber Players since 2007. She is a member of the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra and the Portland Columbia Symphony Orchestra. She is also an avid chamber musician and a regular in the VSO Chamber Music Series, alongside fellow Melegari musicians.
As a freelancer in Portland, Ashley is a regular in pit orchestras for musicals at Jesuit High School and also Mock’s Crest Productions. She has appeared and recorded with international artists such as Kanye West, Channel In Channel Out, Michael Allen Harrison, Katie Harman, and many others. Ashley has appeared on stage as “Julian” in Sarah Ruhl’s Melancholy Play at Pacific University, and she also substitutes with various orchestras, including Sunnyside SO and Columbia Gorge Sinfonietta.
As an educator, Ashley teaches in the Lake Oswego School District orchestra program and Rose City Music Academy summer programs. She also teaches string techniques for music education majors at Portland State University, and she maintains a private studio in Northwest Portland.
Ashley graduated summa cum laude with a degree in cello performance from Portland State University in 2006 where she studied with Hamilton Cheifetz.
